Fr. John lacono is given PRO ECLESIAE ETPONTIFICE (For the Church and for the Pope) award for the following:

  1. He initiated and was the first chaplain of Padre Pio Contemplative Community in Cebu.

  2. Established and organized volunteers for prison apostolate in BBRC and CPDRC.

  3. Organized volunteers for the drug victims at NARCOM-Lahug.

  4. Together with other priests initiated and building a shrine at Perrellos-Carcar.

  5. Together with Fr. Savino Castiglione began outreach program for the deaf-mute imStMighaeLYillageBanilad.

  6. He is one ofthe first members of BLD and Alay sa Dios.

  7. Organized the Marian Movement of Priest in Cebu. Father Gobbi was the initiator.

  8. Organized, established, founded and is the administrator of Bethlehem Day Care Center at White Road, Inayawan — school for the children of the scavengers.   

  9. Visualized building homes for the homeless at St. Pio Village-Dumlog, Talisay. The project is in process of offering 360 raw houses for the different sectors of society from the lower income earners.

  10. He offers counseling and confessions in his office at Patria de Cebu everyday for five hours.

  11. With the help and cooperation of many Australians, he has contributed financially to the following:

  • Hannah May Apellido was assisted in having an open heart surgery. The day care center

  • spent P560, 000.00 for her operation.

  • Scholarships had been offered to several students by Bethlehem Day Care Center —Inayawan in the past 15 years.

  • He served in the parishes of Sto. Rosario, Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral, occasionally in Sacred Heart Parish in Jakosalem Street, Cebu, ALAY SA DIOS, BLD and different other mandated organization.

  • Financial assistance extended to Bishop John Du, Dumaguete

  • Financial assistance given to Bishop Boy Abarquez, Siquejor, Calbayug, Leyte

  • Assisted John Berl Teves with surgery due to deformities on his knees and hands since birth.Center shoulder the expenses of the surgical operation of the amount of 150,000 pesos. Aided Ella 'Marie Alca due to fire victim, in rehabilitating the use of her right hand, of which she w unable to hold or write due to the surgery conducted after her medical treatment in hospital. The amount sustained for her medical treatment 200,000 pesos.
